Olympic: Modernisation of the Lausanne Light Rail System

The modernisation of the Stadbahn, operated by Verkehrsbetrieben Lausanne since 1991 on a track length of 7.8 kilometres, is a major contribution by APS to the quality of urban life.

Led by Vossloh-Kiepe (Kiepe Electric) eight of the six-axle, two-directional articulated cars of the Type Bem 4/6 were modernised. The Vossloh-Kiepe part of the delivery comprised two pieces of direct current traction converter equipment of the Type UTA 201 per vehicle, with IGBT technology and a vehicle control unit. APS electronic AG is taking care of service.
